Solar Heat Gain Coefficient Number

Leading the industry with the highest standards

Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) is the fraction of solar radiation admitted through a window, door, or skylight. This tells you how well the product blocks heat caused by the sun. The lower SHGC, the less solar heat it transmits.

U-Factor measures how well a product prevents heat from escaping a home in cold weather. The lower the UFactor, the better a product is at keeping the heat in the home in cold weather. The heat transfer through a window, door, or skylight and tells you how well the product insulates. The lower the U-Factor, the greater resistance to heat flow (in and out) and the better its insulation value.
